2020 DATA SCIENCE POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS

UCSD has several Postdoctoral Fellowships, aimed at preparing outstanding researchers for academic and leadership careers in Data Science. Areas of interest include both theoretical and practical aspects of machine learning, statistics, algorithms, and their applications.

Extending far beyond traditional postdoctoral programs, our Data Science Fellows enjoy the freedom to interact and conduct first-rate research with any of UCSD's distinguished faculty. They receive an affiliation at the CSE or ECE Department, where they teach one data-science related class per year, and will be given a research budget and a faculty-type office.

The program is co-sponsored by UCSD's CSE and ECE departments, the Interdisciplinary Qualcomm Institute, the newly formed Halicioglu Data Science Institute, and the Information Theory and Applications Center. Of the program’s 17 past participants, 12 currently hold academic positions at excellent universities worldwide, and others are at leading technology companies.

Several positions are available and exceptional, self-motivated candidates with outstanding research records are encouraged to apply. Applications will be reviewed starting March 1st, 2020, until positions are filled.
